Vandoren mouthpieces have defined the ideal saxophone sound for decades. The V16 mouthpiece is inspired by the sound of the greatest jazz musicians from the fifties to the present. It is one of the most widely used mouthpieces and can easily adapt to all styles of playing. JAVA, V16 and ZZ reeds are recommended for these mouthpieces. This kit includes a tenor mouthpiece, made with the legendary “Bell Metal” brass, then plated with 24-karat gold, an Optimum ligature, a mouthpiece cap and 3 pressure plates.

The T8 M has a tip opening of 277 (1/100mm) and a long facing.
It was designed in the tradition of the 50's and 60's.
The sound of the T8 medium is round and profound.
The Optimum ligature was specifically designed for Vandoren’s V16 mouthpieces.
Its double-track mechanism provides uniform, symmetrical suspension across both sides of the reed. A single screw, inverted on the opposite side of the reed, delivers sufficient torque to hold the reed in place without suffocating it.
This ligature includes 3 interchangeable pressure plates, giving you more freedom of choice.
1st pressure plate:
- Rich sound, colour and projection.
- A more compact, focused tone and a smooth, even sound.
- Allows for great playability and an easy staccato.
2nd pressure plate:
- Son compact, doux et centré.
- Free-blowing.
3rd pressure plate:
- The reed vibrates in total freedom, producing a very flexible sound.
- Ease of expression.
