The Vandoren German Clarinet D Series Mouthpiece is a Boehm system mouthpiece specially adapted to the German Clarinet. The M30D offers a good balance between colour and roundness. The length and diameter of the shank, the bore, the appearance of the tip rail and the external shape are the components of this new concept that offers a perfect balance between a very warm sound and great intonation. 56 Rue Lepic reeds are particularly recommended for these mouthpieces.

Every Vandoren mouthpiece is meticulously quality controlled. Vandoren's reeds exceptional brightness is obtained through the polishing process.
Each mouthpiece is polished to a brilliant finish. The final adjustment of the facing is done by staged diamond cutting tools. The tolerances of 4/10,000 of an inch are so small that, to maintain precision, the table is not polished. Each mouthpiece is hand finished at the baffle, walls, and tip rail. Master craftsmen finish and adjust each mouthpiece to surpass the most critical examinations of professional musicians. The mouthpieces are polished one last time (except the facing area) to eliminate marks and imperfections. The Vandoren name is then stamped in gold on the mouthpiece along with the model number.
Vandoren recommends using the following reeds:
- Vandoren Traditional 2,5 - 3 - 3.5
- Vandoren V12 2,5 - 3 - 3.5
- Vandoren Lepic 2,5 - 3 - 3.5
